On April 13, 2016, Barry h. Greenberg, a leading international authority in the field of heart failure, and a professor of medicine at UCSD School of Medicine published a review article entitled "Potential new drug treatments for congestive heart failure" in the journal “Expert Opinion on Investigational Drugs.” The article systematically describes the latest progress of new drug therapy in the field of chronic heart failure, of which the morbidity and mortality rate is consistently high, and also causes an increasing economic burden for nursing care.
In this paper, the ErbB signaling pathway targeted by Neuregulin is introduced, and its potential therapeutic effects in cardiovascular diseases include reducing ventricular diastolic volume, correcting cardiac hypertrophy, increasing cardiac contractile function and reversing cardiomyopathy with recombinant NRG-1.
